AE - Abu Dhabi Driving License Regulations

1. UAE Resident Customers (on Residence Visa)

All UAE Resident Customers must hold UAE local Driving License

2. UAE VISITORS from the listed countries who are on (Visit / Transit / Mission Visas) are allowed to drive with their Country Local Driving License subject to having  their passport and driving license issued from the same country; and their driving license written in their local language is supported by a copy translated into English or Arabic .

Applicable to visitors From UK, USA, FRANCE, JAPAN, BELGIUM, HOLAND, SWITZERLAND, DENMARK, GERMANY, ITALY, SWEDEN, GREECE, AUSTRIA, IRELAND, SPAIN, NORWAY, TURKEY, CANADA, POLAND, SOUTH KOREA, FINLAND, SOUTH AFRICA, AUSTRALIA, NEWZEALAND, ROMANIA, SINGAPORE, HONG KONG, PORTUGAL, LUXEMBOURG, SLOVENIA, LATVIA, LITUANIA,CHINA & HUNGARY                

3. UAE VISITORS from other countries - (not-listed) - who are on (Visit / Transit / Mission Visas) are NOT allowed to drive in UAE with their local driving license and need to have International one.

UAE VISITORS from other countries - (not-listed) - who are on (Visit / Transit / Mission Visas) are NOT allowed to drive in UAE with their local driving license and need to have International one.

4. GCC VISITORS / with GCC Original ID
(Gulf Consolidated Countries) / (Gulf Cooperation Council)

Visitors having Original ID form GCC countries are allowed to drive in UAE with their Valid GCC Driving License

5. GCC Visitors (Foreigner ID)

Visitors Not having Original ID GCC are allowed to drive with valid GCC Driving License, if their Resident Visa in the GCC country is still valid and they are entering the UAE as visitors and not residents .

Note:

All the Driving License should be 1 year old.
